Pakistan (PKR)

Currently, Pakistan has over 46 million e-wallet users, representing 21% of the population. Major e-wallets include:

1. Easypaisa: Known as the Pakistani version of Alipay, it has over 20 million users and holds a 53% market share. Users can use the app to securely and quickly transfer and receive money, top up their phones, purchase data, shop online, and pay utility bills.

2. JazzCash: A branchless banking system launched by Pakistani telecom operator Jazz. It works similarly to a bank account with a mobile phone number and can be accessed on a wide range of phones, making it popular among feature phone users. In recent years, JazzCash has seen significant growth in its user base. Unlike Easypaisa, JazzCash's primary users are feature phones.

3. E-wallets such as SimSim, Keenu, UPaisa, and GoLootLo also have a significant market share in Pakistan.

Overall, with the increasing popularity of smartphones and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Pakistan's digital payments industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 20.7%, reaching US$53.9176 billion by 2025. Government support for electronic payments and the development of industry regulations are making electronic payments one of the safest, fastest, and most reliable payment methods in Pakistan.
